Is every school day getting longer and longer?
Does it seem almost impossible to truly care about what you get on the next chapter test?
Does your backpack get lighter and lighter each week as you cease to bring books to school?
Do you find yourself dreaming about freedom from the long days of high school by planning the layout and contents of a made-up college dorm room that you have yet to choose?
If so, there’s only one word for it: senioritis. Almost everyone’s heard about it, and now that the second semester is here, there’s a good chance that many, many seniors may start experiencing its symptoms. Sure those beacons of hope, college and graduation, are starting to seem within reach. But don’t give up and get lazy just yet! Here are some tips on how to fight senioritis.
Don’t procrastinate
Yes, you may have three days to complete that math review packet, but don’t kid yourself—you’re never really going to finish it all in one night. We all know that if you start it on the night before it’s due, you’ll spend two hours on it, you won’t get close to finishing it and you’ll give up. The lesson? Start your assignments when they’re assigned and definitely don’t leave homework for the weekend.
Do your homework
While it’s true that one homework assignment is usually worth no more than 10 points, five points here and there adds up after you don’t do your homework for two weeks. Nip that bad habit in the bud now.
Make a to-do list
If your school doesn’t already give you one, buy a planner. And be sure to use it. Yes, it’s second semester, but this is the time when students can become the laziest. Write down all your homework assignments and don’t let yourself do anything until you’ve checked off every item.
Visit your local library
Not only is it quiet, but they don’t have TVs and phones aren’t allowed. ‘Nuff said.
Get off Facebook
It seems almost everyone has seen the group, “My Homework Would Be Done If It Wasn’t For Facebook” way too often in the months since school began. Many of us know that homework can be a nightmare for a second semester senior, so why make the nightmare last longer by distracting yourself by commenting on photos or posting your status?
Focus
Remember, just because you’re accepted to college doesn’t mean your admission can’t get revoked.
If you fail the second semester of your senior year, there’s a chance the university you planned to attend could rescinded its offer. Don’t ruin your chances of going to your dream university. If you work hard now, your escape will be guaranteed!

These are tips we'd all love to follow, but many end up choosing the alternative. Senioritis is a disease ,but so far my body has fought the disease well.
