"Inception"
Leonardo DiCaprio’s character is Dom Cobb, an absolute expert in “extraction,” the dangerous profession of stealing secrets from the subconscious mind. The film may be in danger of the “huh?” reaction "Shutter Island" widely received, but what’s so bad about a movie that makes you think, anyway? Why I think this will be a standout summer blockbuster: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, thrills, car chases, Leonardo, explosions, crazy dream ideas, DiCaprio, fantastic cinematography and, apparently, a wild plot twist at the end. And if you’re not interested in all that action, at least go to see Leo. It’s gonna be great!

"The Sorcerer’s Apprentice"
Set in modern-day Manhattan, Balthazar Blake (Nicholas Cage) must protect the metropolis from his enemy, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Along the way Blake enlists a trusty apprentice, Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel). Sorry, but this is all a little too overdone-"Harry-Potter"/"Lord-of-the-Rings"-copycat for me. Shouldn’t this have just gone straight to the Disney Channel? Though critical, I’m not completely knocking it. "Apprentice" could be worth seeing. If you can get past watching Cage act in anything but "National Treasure."

"Operation: Endgame"
Two rival teams of government assassins are put head-to-head in a battle of wits. The film stars Zach Galifianakis, Emilie de Ravin and Rob Corddry, all assigned code names from Tarot cards like Hermit, Hierophant and Chariot, respectively. Explosions and “spy talk” interrupted by comedic relief from Galifianakis (of "The Hangover") will make this film a cross between action and comedy. Even though the plot line looks a little unsteady, the movie has potential, and the trailer looks great.

Kisses
Two kids, Dylan and Kylie, run away from home during Christmastime and spend an eye-opening night on the streets of Dublin. The first part of this indie movie, suppressed in their dysfunctional homes, is set in black-and-white. As the night continues, the kids find color both in the city and in themselves.
